Bow Street is where Jameson was distilled until 1971. The spirit has been made in Cork ever since, so what you are visiting is a restored brand home with a very good bar attached. Said plainly, that is not a criticism. It is the most polished whiskey hour in Dublin and it knows exactly what it is doing.
The Bow Street Experience runs a comparative tasting that lands the difference between Irish, Scotch and bourbon in about ten minutes, which is genuinely useful for a first-timer. The whiskey-making class and the cocktail session are the reason groups leave happy.
If you are travelling with people who are curious rather than committed, this is the right choice, and JJ's bar afterwards is a better room than the tour leads you to expect.

- No. Jameson has been distilled at Midleton in County Cork since 1971. Bow Street is the restored original site and now a visitor experience with a bar, which it does very well.
