Portmarnock by the sea

The Jameson family house, then the resort, then the dunes.

Collected by Deborah. Read her editorial perspective

Portmarnock, once a Jameson family house, serves as our Dublin launching point. The original wing still feels like a private residence, like we are weekend guests. With the dunes only ten yards from the door, we often head out there before we have even unpacked.

Portmarnock by the sea

Adare

On clear mornings, we walk the strand to Velvet Strand at low tide, or play nine holes before breakfast. Evenings usually find us with a drink in the Jameson Bar, settling in before dinner. These rhythms, though simple, establish the tenor for our subsequent journeys.

This proximity makes it a useful waypoint for your first or last night of a golf week, just twenty-five minutes from Dublin Airport.
