September in Kinsale

After the Gourmet Festival, when the harbour goes back to itself.

We typically gravitate toward Kinsale the week before the famed Gourmet Festival. This distinct autumn interlude reveals the true nature of this harbor town, a particular rhythm many travelers miss. You will find it is a different place then.

September in Kinsale

West Cork in February

The harbor’s waters achieve a rare stillness, their surface reflecting a deeper gold from the surrounding autumn landscape. Kinsale’s celebrated restaurants, though less full, still present their peak offerings, a crispness evident in every plate from the kitchens.

For us, a restful night at the Old Head, or the consistent hospitality of Perryville House, always pairs with the precise flavors of Bastion or Fishy Fishy.
