Kerry's two strongest waterside stays sit forty minutes apart and feel nothing alike. One is a quiet lodge wrapped around a waterfall. The other is a modernist hotel built so that every room faces the Lakes of Killarney.
Choose Sheen Falls when you want quiet, woodland and water: a lodge rather than a resort, Kenmare's kitchens ten minutes away, and easy access to both the Ring of Kerry and the emptier Beara drive. Two or three nights is the right length.
Choose The Europe for the view and the spa. Every room was built to see the lake, the thermal suite deserves a half-day, and it suits travellers who want Killarney's scenery without long walks or long drives.

The Room to Request
The garden-facing rooms are lovely. The river-facing rooms are the reason to come. The sound of the falls is part of the experience and you cannot get it back if you book the wrong side.
