A note from Deborah. Read her editorial perspective
We do not take golf reservations ourselves. What we can do is lay out, in the club's own numbers, exactly what a visiting American pays to play Palmer North at The K Club in 2026, what a caddie costs, what the hire desk charges for a buggy or a trolley, and what happens if your flight is delayed and you need to move the tee time. The K Club is more transparent about its pricing than most Irish resorts of its stature, publishing hotel-guest and visitor rates by season on the same page as its caddie and hire charges. Read it closely before you book, because the cancellation terms tighten fast inside the final days, and because a rule change due in April 2027 will add a mandatory caddie fee to every Palmer North booking of two or more that does not already exist on the books.
The Published 2026 Green Fees, Exactly As The Club Prints Them
The K Club's Palmer North page splits 2026 into two bands. From January through March, the rate is 105 euro for hotel guests and 140 euro for visitors. From April through October, the rate rises to 175 euro for hotel guests and 260 euro for visitors. Those are the four numbers the club publishes, and they are the only numbers we will quote, because the club does not list a winter rate for November and December on that page and we are not going to estimate one.
The gap between hotel-guest and visitor pricing is worth planning around if your trip includes a stay at the resort. A fourball of hotel guests playing in high season pays 700 euro in green fees against 1,040 euro for the same fourball booked as day visitors. For most American groups flying in specifically to play Palmer North, staying on site covers the pricing difference within a round or two.
The club does not publish a separate green fee table for Palmer South on this page. If Palmer South is part of your plan, confirm its current rate directly with the golf shop when you call to book, rather than assuming it mirrors Palmer North's figures.
Caddie Rates, And The Rule Changing In 2027
The club publishes three caddie rates for 2026: a Junior Caddie at 75 euro, a Senior Caddie at 100 euro, and a Forecaddie at 160 euro. If you do not specify a preference when you book, the club allocates a Forecaddie as standard, which is worth knowing if you had a particular rate in mind.
The policy to build your 2027 budget around is this: from April 2027, the club requires a caddie for all new bookings of two or more golfers playing Palmer North. The club states plainly that this does not apply retrospectively to existing bookings, so a tee time already confirmed under the current terms is unaffected. But any new booking made for a date in or after April 2027, for two or more players, carries the caddie fee as a mandatory line item rather than an optional add-on.
The club asks that caddies be requested in advance by phone at +353 (1) 601 7200 or by email to golfreservations@kclub.ie. It says it will always try to accommodate a preferred caddie type but cannot guarantee it, and payment of the caddie is handled separately from the green fee.
Buggy, Trolley And Club Hire
The hire desk publishes a buggy at 60 euro, an electric trolley at 25 euro, and a pull trolley at 5 euro, which the club notes is complimentary for hotel residents. Club hire is 60 euro. These are the figures printed on the Palmer North page for 2026, and we have not seen a separate hire schedule published for Palmer South.
A buggy is worth factoring in for any group travelling with an older golfer or anyone managing a recent injury, particularly given the resort's size at 550 acres along the Liffey, where the walk between certain holes and back to the clubhouse is longer than a compact parkland layout.
If you are a hotel guest, ask at check-in whether the complimentary pull trolley needs to be reserved alongside your tee time or can simply be collected at the golf shop on the morning of play.
The Cancellation Policy, Read In Full
The club states that all tee times are pre-paid at the time of booking. If you need to cancel, the club asks that you do so at least thirty days before your tee time. Cancel within that thirty-day window and the club will not issue a cash refund, but it will allow the booking to be rescheduled.
The terms tighten further inside forty-eight hours. Cancel within forty-eight hours of your tee time, or fail to show at all, and the club retains full payment with no rescheduling option stated. The club's no-show language is equally direct: failure to cancel an appointed tee time results in a one hundred percent charge of the total green fees booked, applied to the credit or debit card on file.
There is a weather clause, and it is a genuine one. If the club's management considers the course unplayable, the club states it will issue a voucher to allow the group to return and play again, rather than a straight refund. The club adds that refunds are only offered on a case-by-case basis, with a final decision made by the Director of Golf. Build your travel insurance and your expectations around a voucher, not a refund, if weather is the reason a round does not happen.
Handicap, Skill Level, And Who Should Book Which Course
Handicap certificates are not required of visitors for general play at The K Club. That is a lower bar than many of the championship courses in this guide, and it opens Palmer North to a wider range of American visitors without a certificate check at the golf shop.
The club does, however, draw a clear line on Palmer South. It recommends a good level of golf for that course and states directly that it is not for beginners. If your group includes a newer golfer, book that player onto Palmer North, or into the resort's K Golf World coaching and simulator program, rather than Palmer South.
The club notes a separate rule for its Open Days: players attending must present ILGU or GUI cards prior to entry. That applies to club-run open competitions rather than standard visitor tee times, but it is worth asking about directly if your dates happen to coincide with one.
How Booking Actually Works, And When To Call
Tee times at The K Club are arranged through the club's own booking channel rather than through us. We do not hold inventory, quote rates on the club's behalf beyond what is published, or confirm availability. Use the figures on this page to plan your budget, then call the golf shop directly on +353 (1) 601 7200 or email golfreservations@kclub.ie to check live availability and request your caddie preference in the same conversation.
Because the club prices by season, the honest planning sequence is to pick your travel dates first, check which band they fall into, April through October carries the higher visitor rate, and build the rest of the trip, including whether you stay on site to access the hotel-guest rate, around that number.
If your dates land on or after April 2027 and your group is two or more playing Palmer North, add the caddie fee to your budget from the first conversation rather than discovering it is mandatory when you call to confirm.
Where To Sleep, And The Week We Would Build Around It
The K Club is a resort with its own hotel on the property, and for most American groups that is the simplest and most cost-effective way to play. Staying on site drops the green fee to the hotel-guest rate on both the winter and summer bands, and it removes any drive between accommodation and the first tee entirely.
Because the resort sits thirty minutes from Dublin Airport, it pairs naturally with a Dublin-based trip, a round or two here on arrival or departure days, and the rest of the week spent on the coast at Portmarnock or further south. It also stands on its own for a golf-focused long weekend built entirely around Palmer North and Palmer South, with K Golf World and the Trackman range filling any weather day in between.
Confirm the hotel stay first, then call the golf shop to lock in tee times for both courses if your group wants the contrast between them, and put the thirty-day cancellation line and the forty-eight-hour cutoff in your calendar the same day you pay. That is the full sequence. The club has published the rest.
