Booking Rosses Point is more straightforward than booking a Kerry championship course, mostly because the club has not built the elaborate deposit and cancellation machinery that Tralee or Waterville runs. That simplicity cuts two ways. It is easy to put a tee time on the sheet through BRS Golf without a phone call. It is also easy to assume terms exist that the club has simply not written down anywhere, and to find that out only when a flight gets moved and there is no printed policy to point to. We book this one by taking what the club states as fixed, confirming the rest in writing, and never treating a tee time as locked until the club's own system shows it as confirmed.
The Published 2027 Green Fees, Exactly As The Club Prints Them
The club has priced its championship course for the season of 15 March to 15 November 2027 rather than issuing a separate 2026 rate, and the figures sit on one page without a login or a quote request. Monday to Thursday is 370 euro per person. Saturday from 1pm is 400 euro. Friday and Sunday from 1pm is 395 euro. A day ticket, which lets a player take two rounds in a day, runs from 620 euro. If your trip falls before 15 March or after 15 November, or in an earlier 2026 window the club has not priced, those dates are not covered by any number on the page, and you should email or call rather than assume the 2027 rate applies retroactively.
The nine-hole Bomore Course is priced apart from all of that, at 80 euro per person, available every day of the year. It is the easiest booking on this page because the rate never changes by day of the week, and it is worth holding in reserve as a second outing for a group that wants a shorter, calmer round the same week.
Golf Ireland members have a separate rate structure that the club lists only as price on application, to be requested by email or phone. If anyone in your group carries Golf Ireland affiliation, raise it when you contact the club rather than booking through the standard visitor channel and paying the full rate by default.
How The Booking Actually Works
County Sligo Golf Club routes its visitor tee times through BRS Golf, the same booking platform used by many Irish clubs, with a Book A Tee Time link on every page of the site that opens the live sheet for both the Colt Championship Links and the Bomore Course. You select a date, a course, and a time, and the system takes payment or a hold at the point of booking rather than through a separate email exchange. That is simpler than the fax-and-phone approach some smaller clubs still use, but it also means the terms that apply to your booking are whatever BRS Golf presents on screen at checkout rather than whatever is printed on the club's own green fees page, and the two are not always written in the same words.
We would read the checkout terms on the BRS Golf screen itself before confirming, specifically any line about deposits, cancellation windows, or refunds, because the club's own site does not restate them. If the online system does not make a particular term clear, email the club directly at the address on its contact page and get the answer in writing before you pay.
For a group of eight or more, or for a society outing, the club directs you away from the online sheet entirely and toward its groups and societies contact, which handles its own quoting and scheduling. If you are travelling as a foursome or smaller, the BRS Golf sheet is the right tool. If you are bringing a larger party, start with an email rather than trying to force a group booking through the individual visitor system.
Caddies, Carts, And When To Ask For Them
Caddies are available on request and the club recommends booking at least five days ahead of your round to improve your odds of getting one, which tells you plainly that supply is limited rather than guaranteed. The published rates are 90 euro for a single bag caddie, 120 euro for a forecaddie covering two or three players, and 150 euro for a forecaddie covering four. Request the caddie in the same message where you confirm your tee time rather than treating it as a detail to sort out on arrival.
Cart and trolley hire is priced plainly on the same page: club hire at 50 euro, an electric trolley at 20 euro, and a buggy at 60 euro. The club's own FAQ repeats the buggy rate and adds that advance booking is advisable, which we would treat as a real instruction rather than boilerplate, since a club running two courses on the same stretch of land can book out its small fleet of carts on a busy day.
None of the hire or caddie costs require a quote. You can budget the full day's spend for a four-ball, green fee, caddies, and a cart or two, before you ever pick up the phone, which is not something every Irish links allows.
What The Club Does Not Publish, And Why It Matters
We looked across the green fees page, the courses FAQ, and the groups and societies page for a deposit requirement, a cancellation or refund policy, a weather or course closure clause, and a visitor handicap limit, and found none of the four published anywhere on the club's site. That is a real difference from Tralee, which prints a fifty per cent non-refundable deposit and a ninety-day balance rule in black and white, or from clubs that state a 28 or 36 handicap ceiling for visitors outright.
The absence of a printed policy is not the same as the absence of a policy. BRS Golf bookings typically involve payment or a card hold at the time of booking, and clubs running that system usually have a cancellation window even when it is not restated on the club's own marketing pages. Ask directly, in writing, before you book: what happens to the fee if the round is cancelled, what happens if the course closes for weather on the day, and whether there is any handicap requirement for visitors on the championship links. Keep the written answer, the same way we would advise with any club that leaves its fine print to a phone call rather than a printed page.
We would also confirm the Bomore Course booking separately if you plan to play both courses on the same visit, since the two are priced and, as far as the club's site shows, scheduled independently rather than as a single combined booking.
Timing The Booking Against The Season
The championship links season the club has priced runs 15 March to 15 November 2027, and within that window the rate structure itself tells you where demand concentrates. Monday to Thursday is the cheapest rate on the card, which at a club this well known usually means it is also the easiest tee time to secure on short notice. Saturday afternoon and the Friday and Sunday afternoon rate sit higher, which signals a club protecting its weekend member play by pricing the visitor slots that remain.
We would book a weekday morning in May, June or September if your dates allow it, both for the lower rate and for the better odds of calm weather on an exposed peninsula course where wind is the dominant variable. The Bomore Course, priced the same every day of the year, removes that timing calculation entirely and is worth booking whenever it suits the rest of the day's plan.
Because the club has not published a 2026 rate distinct from the 2027 season it has already priced, a trip booked for spring or autumn 2026 should start with a direct question to the club about which rate applies, rather than an assumption drawn from the number on the page.
Building The Round Into A Sligo And Mayo Week
Rosses Point sits roughly forty minutes from Enniscrone along the coast road, and a visitor who is also playing Enniscrone should book the two rounds with at least a day between them rather than back to back, since both courses reward a fresh group and both can run long with photographs and a lingering clubhouse lunch. We set out the fuller case for that pairing, and for Enniscrone's own booking terms, in our companion guides to playing and booking Enniscrone.
If Carne in Belmullet is also on the list, give County Sligo the earlier morning of the week, since its championship links is the more technical of the two and benefits from a group that has not yet spent three days in a rental car. Book all three tee times before you book accommodation legs in between, since the golf, not the hotel, is what fixes the shape of a Sligo and Mayo week.
Whatever order you choose, treat the County Sligo booking as the one where you do the most independent confirming, simply because the club has chosen to keep its paperwork light. A short email now, asking about deposits, cancellations, and any handicap expectation, costs nothing and removes the one real unknown in an otherwise easy booking.
Dress, Pace, And The Clubhouse On The Day
The club does not publish a written dress code on its visitor pages beyond photographs that show the standard expected at a serious Irish links, which in practice means collared shirts, tailored shorts or trousers, and proper golf shoes rather than street trainers. We would not test the edge of that assumption on a first visit. Call ahead if your group has any question about what counts as acceptable, since the absence of a printed rule is not an invitation to improvise.
Opening hours are published in the courses FAQ as seasonal, with the club open 8am to 11pm and the course itself playable roughly 9am to 9pm in season, though that window shortens either side of midsummer with the daylight. Book an early tee time if you want the course at its calmest, since a club with 27 holes across two courses and a busy pro shop can feel fuller by midday than the quiet of the setting suggests.
The View Restaurant and the Colt Bar sit above the eighteenth green and are worth a reservation of their own on a day you are not rushing to a second course, particularly if your round finishes in the early afternoon and the group wants to watch the light change over Sligo Bay before heading back to the car.

- Can I book both the Colt Championship Links and the Bomore Course on the same visit?
- Yes, but the club prices and, as far as its website shows, schedules the two courses separately, so book each round individually rather than assuming one booking covers both.
