How To Book A Tee Time At Carne Golf Links

Carne runs its visitor booking through its own BRS Golf tee sheet, split between the Hackett course and the newer Wild Atlantic Dunes routing, with full payment taken online at the time of booking. The club does not publish a green fee table on its site or on the booking page itself, so this guide tells you what is actually published and what you need to confirm directly.

Carne does not run a public green fees page the way many Irish links clubs do. There is no fees table on carnegolflinks.com, and the club's own BRS Golf visitor booking system, which is where every visitor tee time is actually sold, states only that green fee rates are shown once you pick a course and a date, rather than printing a rate card in advance. What the booking system does publish, in its terms and conditions, is how payment and cancellation work, and the club's buggy and caddie page prints exact hire charges. This guide tells you what Carne has actually put in writing, and is honest about the one number, the green fee itself, that the club has chosen not to publish on a page we can quote. Confirm the fee on the booking system for your own dates before you commit to travel.

Two Courses, One Booking System

Carne's visitor booking runs through its own page on BRS Golf, the same third party tee sheet used by a large share of Irish clubs. The system splits bookings by course rather than by a single generic tee time: you can book 18 holes on the Hackett course, 18 holes on the composite Wild Atlantic Dunes course, which combines the Hackett back nine with the newer Kilmore nine, 27 holes covering the Hackett 18 and the Kilmore nine, or 36 holes covering the Hackett 18 and the Wild Atlantic Dunes course. Read the course selector carefully before you commit a card to a specific slot, because the names are close enough that a distracted booking can land you on the wrong routing.

The club's own site frames the two courses as a pair rather than a choice: the Hackett is Eddie Hackett's original design, and Wild Atlantic Dunes is the newer routing that Golf Digest placed at No. 63 in its World's 100 Greatest Courses for 2026 to 2027. The booking system is built around the assumption that a visiting group plays one in the morning and the other the next day, which is also our own recommendation for anyone with two mornings to give it.

The system states that GUI rates are available for all of the booking options above, and that GUI members should contact the club directly by phone or email rather than booking the standard visitor rate online.

The Green Fee Carne Has Not Published

We are not going to print a green fee figure for Carne, because the club has not published one on any page we can cite. The BRS Golf booking system shows a rate once you select a course and a date, but it does not carry a standing rate table on a page with a stable URL, and carnegolflinks.com itself carries no fees page in its site map. If a figure is quoted to you anywhere else, including a travel agent's itinerary, confirm it against the live BRS calendar for your own dates before you treat it as fixed.

This is the one place in this guide where we are asking you to do a step we would normally do for you. Open the booking system, select the course and the date, and read the rate the system shows before you enter a card number. It is the only reliable number, because it is the number the club itself is about to charge you.

Payment And Cancellation, In The Club's Own Words

The booking system's terms are specific about payment: to book a tee time online you enter your credit or debit card details through the system's secure payment process, and a 100% charge is deducted from your card to secure the reservation. There is no deposit structure here. Online booking at Carne means paying the full green fee at the time you book.

The cancellation terms are equally specific, and they turn on a single number: 60 days. If you cancel more than 60 days before your date of play, the club states you will receive a full refund of your green fee. If you fail to cancel within 60 days of play, you will not receive any refund. There is no sliding scale between those two points, which makes the 60 day line the one date in a Carne booking worth marking in a calendar the day you pay.

On weather, the terms are generous by Irish club standards: if you are unable to play due to the course being closed, for example in bad weather, you will receive a full refund of your green fee. The club adds that these terms apply under normal circumstances, and that in cases of force majeure it reserves the right to amend its policies, though it commits, as a minimum, to offering full credit to reschedule bookings affected by force majeure.

Caddies, Buggies And Trolleys

The club's buggy and caddie services page states plainly that caddies, buggies and electric trolleys are subject to availability and must be booked in advance. The published charges, checked in October 2026, are a caddie at 80 euro per round, a buggy or cart at 40 euro for 18 holes and 50 euro for 27 holes, an electric trolley at 15 euro for 18 holes, a pull trolley at 5 euro, and hire clubs at 50 euro. Caddie fees and any gratuity are paid directly to the caddie, at the golfer's discretion.

Book a caddie at the same time you book the round rather than waiting until arrival. Carne is a long way from anywhere, and a club this remote does not have a bench of spare caddies waiting at the shop on a Tuesday morning. The BRS booking system's own instructions ask you to enter any request for clubs, trolleys, caddies or restaurant bookings directly into the booking form, or to call the club on +353 97 82292.

Handicaps And Dress

Handicap certificates are not required for general play at Carne. They are required for open competitions, where holders of GUI swipe cards must present them on the day, and other competitors must present a current handicap certificate from their home club. A visitor playing a normal round outside a competition does not need to bring a record.

The dress code follows the standard GUI and ILGU rule: collarless or sleeveless tee-shirts are not permitted, and shorts must be tailored rather than athletic shorts. It is a conventional Irish club standard and not a strict one, but it rules out the gym kit some travelers pack as a backup layer.

The Booking Sequence We Would Follow

Open the BRS Golf visitor page for Carne and choose your course, or courses, first: the Hackett, Wild Atlantic Dunes, or one of the 27 or 36 hole combinations if you can give it two mornings. Confirm the green fee the system shows for your dates before paying, since Carne does not publish a standing rate elsewhere. Pay in full at booking, since there is no deposit option, and mark the 60 day cancellation line in your calendar the same day.

Request a caddie, a buggy or a trolley in the same booking rather than leaving it to arrival, and book two nights in Belmullet so neither round is rushed. The town is small and the drive to it is long, four hours from Dublin and three from Shannon by the club's own reckoning, which is the best argument for getting the booking right the first time rather than improvising once you are there.
