Kilmore Quay is a small working harbour on the Wexford coast with a fleet that lands prawns, scallops and whitefish, and a counter beside it that sells them. There is no visitor centre and no theatre. There is a pier, boats, ice and fish. For anybody driving the southeast between Rosslare and Waterford it is the most worthwhile fifteen-minute stop on the road, and in winter the scallops are the best on the island.

Scallops peak in winter, prawns in summer. The Saltee Islands boat leaves from the same pier in season.

A space that justifies the journey.
The southeast is skipped by most American itineraries and this harbour is the argument against skipping it. Prawns straight off the boats, at harbour prices.
