Mourne Seafood Bar
The Atmosphere
“Belfast's seafood room, supplied by its own shellfish beds in Carlingford and Dundrum.”
Mourne Seafood Bar grows its own oysters and mussels on the County Down coast and sells them a few hours later in a plain room off Belfast's Bank Street. That short chain is the whole story: the shellfish is better and cheaper than it has any right to be in a city centre. The menu changes with the landings, the cooking is unshowy, and it remains the best value seafood in the north by a wide margin.

Rooms Worth Requesting
What it actually feels like.
Lunch is easier to get than dinner. Ask what came in from Dundrum that morning and order that instead of the menu.

Why we recommend it
A space that justifies the journey.
A restaurant that farms its own shellfish is answerable for it. This is the room we book on a first night in Belfast, every time.
